Mr. Sermsak Wongchai, the executive of GLOVETEX Co., Ltd., has become a part of the “Thai Mutual Aid Against Adversity” project, contributing to the initiative that aims to extend support and breathe new life into COVID-19 patients. Coordinating with the National Health Security Office (NHSO), the third round of ventilators and essential medical equipment has been distributed to over 100 hospitals nationwide.
On September 7, 2021, a press conference was held at the NHSO office to announce the “Thai Mutual Aid Against Adversity: Extending Support and Breathing Life into COVID-19 Patients” project. This initiative is a collaboration between the Thai Mutual Aid Against Adversity, the Royal Thai Air Force, the Thai Health Security Foundation, the National Health Security Office (NHSO), the Public Relations Department, and other public and private sector organizations, aiming to provide necessary ventilators and medical equipment.
GLOVETEX Showcases PAPR Suits at the Event, Aiming to Support Various Regions Amid the COVID-19 Pandemic
During the event, GLOVETEX presented PAPR (Powered Air Purifying Respirator) suits, which were then distributed to various regions to aid Thai citizens in the ongoing COVID-19 crisis.
Ms. Komol Mekwattana, President of the “Thai Mutual Aid Against Adversity” project, stated that the initiative began in March 2020, with the first round of aid distributed through the NHSO in April 2020. While the situation back then was challenging, it pales in comparison to the current crisis faced by the Thai people. The project was relaunched in mid-July, in collaboration with public, private, and civil sectors, to mobilize funds for the mission “Extending Support and Breathing Life.” The goal is to procure essential medical equipment for hospitals in need across the country, and the project has received tremendous support.
The overwhelming response from the Thai people has exceeded expectations, leading to successful fundraising efforts. The project has been able to provide 27 High-Flow Oxygen machines, 47 PAPR units, 10 Oxygen Concentrators (10-liter capacity), 1,000 bottles of I-Herb cough syrup, over 11,000 PPE suits, more than 58,000 N95 masks, and various other essential medical supplies to over 100 hospitals nationwide. The total value of these donations amounts to 13,674,800 baht. The donation campaign will continue until September 30 or until the pandemic situation improves.
