Get to know the ‘MICROTEX® CUT HEAT’ gloves—combining cut and heat resistance with the durability of Kevlar® fibers.

In this article, GLOVETEX will introduce you to “cut and heat-resistant gloves,” which are highly popular in industries requiring high safety standards, dealing with sharp objects, or working in high-temperature environments.

Many of you may immediately think of “Kevlar®” fibers as one of the top materials known for its cut and heat resistance. Today, GLOVETEX will delve deeper into this remarkable fiber.

Kevlar® is well-known for its strength, being a para-aramid fiber with its natural yellow color, which is not dyed. It offers excellent cut and heat resistance. Kevlar® material is also used in manufacturing various personal protective equipment, such as bulletproof vests, cut-resistant gloves, racing suits, helmets, and vehicles. MICROTEX® CUT HEAT Cut-Resistant/Heat-Resistant Gloves

The MICROTEX® CUT HEAT gloves are designed for cut and heat resistance, featuring a bright yellow color and certified to EN388 level 3. They are constructed with two layers of Kevlar® yarn on both the palm and the back (with 100% authentic certification from Dupont). Inside, Glovetex utilizes a specialized manufacturing process with a flame-retardant non-woven cotton fabric that is soft, lightweight, and adds extra protection for the wearer’s hands. These gloves are lightweight, comfortable, and provide a secure fit, ensuring dexterity and minimizing the risk of slipping off the user’s hands. They offer excellent protection against cuts from sharp objects.

The MICROTEX® CUT HEAT gloves also provide heat resistance, meeting the EN407 standard at temperatures above 500°C. This means they will not burn until exposed to temperatures close to 1,000°C. This heat resistance makes Kevlar® yarn highly valued in military applications due to its exceptional durability and abrasion resistance in combat situations.

Using MICROTEX® CUT HEAT Gloves

When choosing MICROTEX® CUT HEAT gloves, safety should be the top priority, along with considering the cost of using this type of glove. The para-aramid yarn is delicate in terms of storage to ensure the strength and durability for optimal performance. Kevlar® yarn is suitable for tasks close to furnaces, flames, or welding equipment where the gloves will not ignite. Besides general industrial work, the MICROTEX® CUT HEAT gloves are well-suited for:

  1. Metal Industry: Handling hot metal or steel.
  2. Automotive Industry: Tasks involving automotive components.
  3. Glass Handling: Handling glass materials.
  4. Aluminum Handling: Handling sharp-edged aluminum.
  5. Automotive Assembly: Assembling automotive parts.
  6. Heat Exposure: Tasks near high temperatures or open flames.
  7. Construction and Furniture Industry: Construction work and furniture manufacturing.

Precautions

  • Para-aramid fibers lose about 15% of their strength after washing more than 8 times.
  • Washing products containing bleach can degrade para-aramid fibers.
  • UV radiation and moisture can weaken the material. Therefore, these gloves are not suitable for outdoor work environments exposed to sunlight or high humidity caused by sweat in hot conditions.
Certainly, selecting the right protective gloves is essential for all types of work. When choosing gloves with special or specialized protection features, it is important to purchase from reputable stores that provide certification. This ensures that you receive a product that is of high quality and 100% genuine.
