Do you know how many types of rubber gloves there are? Which ones are suitable for different types of work?

Rubber gloves are now available in various types and sizes, with different textures, including both rough and smooth surfaces. These differences affect both their physical and chemical properties, catering to a wide range of applications. Today, Glovetex will introduce which type of rubber gloves is suitable for different uses.

Nowadays, rubber gloves are used more widely for various purposes, with the primary goal being to protect the wearer’s hands from toxins, chemicals, and solvents. Rubber gloves come in various types, sizes, and textures, including both rough and smooth surfaces. These differences affect their physical and chemical properties, making them suitable for a range of applications. This is especially true in medical and industrial fields, where the gloves are thin and fit snugly.

Rubber gloves are divided into two types:

  1. Natural Rubber Gloves: These are suitable for general household cleaning tasks, agricultural work, and trades involving chemicals. If you need gloves for home use or agricultural work, choose those with extra thickness to provide good protection while performing household chores or agricultural tasks.
  2. Synthetic Rubber Gloves: These are ideal for tasks involving close contact with hazardous chemicals, acids, and oils. They are also used in medical settings and come in various grades to match specific tasks. For medical use, thinner and snug-fitting gloves are preferred, as they are specifically designed for medical purposes.

Which applications are rubber gloves suitable for?

Medical rubber gloves are thin, snug-fitting, and more flexible than other types of rubber gloves. They are divided into two types:

  1. Surgical Gloves: These gloves are commonly used in surgery. They are highly thin, offer high flexibility, and have strength. They extend to the elbow and are sterilized using a 100% sterilization process. They are intended for single use only and should be disposed of after use.
  2. Examination Gloves: These gloves are commonly used for general medical examinations. They are also thin and snug-fitting but shorter than surgical gloves, extending only to the wrist. They are intended for single use and should be disposed of after use.

Industrial Rubber Gloves: These gloves are designed for industrial use and are characterized by their larger size and durability. They can vary in thickness depending on the specific type of work they are intended for.
